About Us

Tim Armstrong

Owner/Operator

Tim has grown up on his family owned sheep & beef station known as ‘Glenora Station’ or Ora Station, as it is today.
He & his wife Frecks, opened Glenora Hunting in 2008 & their hunting business has grown in leaps & bounds since then.
Tim has thoroughly enjoyed hunting all his life & now has a passion for taking others hunting, young or old.
He gets more enjoyment out of seeing others shoot their desired animals now & seeing the end result. Truly an honnor..
Hunters come as clients but leave as life long friends, many of whom come every year.
Tim works on the Station when he can in between the hunting & he and Frecks also own & manage 350 beehives. Between these jobs, they are kept busy.

We are extremely lucky to be able to work as a family unit.
We look forward to meeting you all here at Glenora.

Hamish Armstrong

guide/son

Hamish has been fortunate enough to have grown up on the Station & around hunting. He stuck his first wild boar at the age of 2, with the help of dad.
When he left school he did pest control in the mountains, culling deer, goats & pigs.
Hamish; along with the whole family are very enthusiastic & passionate about hunting & he has made a career out of it, spending his time between guiding here at Glenora Hunting, New Zealand & Folding Mountain, BC, Canada & has been since 2009 when he was 19.
He spends weeks out the back of BC in camps with horses & clients, even in the snow & below freezing conditions at times.
He guides stone sheep, moose, elk, mountain goat, caribou in Canada & red stags, fallow & Arapawa rams in New Zealand.

I look forward to meeting you all.

Thomas Armstrong

part time guide/youngest son

Tom also has a passion for hunting, as do we all.
He especially loves duck shooting season & pig hunting with the dogs. He also thoroughly enjoys helping out taking hunters out to shoot their desired animals when he can.

Tom works at Rere (near Gisborne) on a station as a fencer general/tractor/digger driver etc.
When he has time off or free weekends he is here helping guide & loves it, as do his hunters.

Frecks Armstrong

Tim’s wife/cook

I grew up in Wanaka (South Island) with my family who owned a saw milling business.
When I left school I worked on the telephone exchange, then as a Nanny.

I met Tim down South, travelled together in the 80’s, came back to New Zealand, moved to the North Island and married in 1994.

We have 3 children –
Mikki, who lives near Gisborne with her partner Rhys & young daughter Billie.
Hamish, lives between Canada & New Zealand
Tom, lives near Gisborne with partner Bridget & are expecting their first child.

We moved to Ora Station in 1994 onto the Armstrong family station & have been here ever since.

Since opening our Glenora Hunting business in 2008, my job has been cook. I love preparing & cooking tasty home cooked meals for all our hunting friends. And keeps everyone well feed & watered.

I look forward to meeting everyone

Welcome ….
